Carré debuts on Woozy with Meltdown, the label’s third installment on wax. An exciting new iteration for the dubstep blueprint, three weighty and heady half steppers in the proudest one-forty tradition with a modern dub-club twist. Comes with two striking remixes from legends dBridge and NVST.

Formerly of Los Angeles, where she co-founded rave crew and label Fast At Work, Carré has emerged swiftly with a clutch of celebrated productions to earn her rightful place amongst the influential milieu of West Coast bass music aficionados. Her previous turns for Fast At Work, Darwin’s SPE:C imprint and the recently revived Tempa now find her relocated to the source of her sound: London. This coincidentally finds her closer to Dublin, where EMA and her Woozy label lie. While the seeds of this linkup preceded the move, this unison seemed inevitable; as vital protagonists from opposite sides of the Atlantic lining the mutant tributaries of modern dubstep with a futurist glint.

On Meltdown, Carré mines closer to the dub core of her sound than ever before. The title track signals the intent, a memorable hook cascading into melodic view before the lurched momentum locks in to its sweeping bassline for pure dancefloor symbiosis. Crawler goes wider, a giddy stepper that’s dynamic swing twirls excitedly on a 2 step pivot until dissolving into a plummeting stomp for ignition. Season Seven sharpens up with a seductive pout-lip, moving loose and free across the stretchy wobbles, peppered vocals and sunrise-addled serenity. On remix duties, a pioneer and modern hero apply their inimitable touch. Exit Records hero dBridge restrings Meltdown as a chromatic DnB roller, gliding taut within the original’s hook to the finest looping hoods-up, heads-down conclusion. NVST’s OLDSCHOOL VERSION of Season Seven unlocks its journey potential, the psychedelic tremors galloping deep across the wriggling path, digging into her unrivalled excavation of techno deconstruction.
