To launch their new vinyl-focused label, Fresca, Hazr (Magic Carpet) and Velvet Velour (Silky Beats) have delivered something rather special: a stroll through some of the many unreleased gems lurking in the vaults of long-serving US West Coast deep house don Brian Cavender AKA Seafoam. It's a blend of old and new productions, but it's genuinely hard to tell which is which, such is the timeless classiness on show. Check first 'Headroom', a bass-heavy slab of San Fran space-house rich in intergalactic pads and trippy effects, before admiring the outer-space 90s style late night electronic funk of 'The Lazy Guitar'. 'Ear Candy' is a hot-stepping slab of breakbeat deepness peppered with funky synth bass and jaunty keyboard stabs, while 'There Is a Method' is a a twinkling artefact from the 90s chill-out wave.
