Hello to Menti Malate, a new label from Italy that makes a fair old ruckus with its first EP. The mysterious named CVE 122 is behind this twisted techno mutation, with opener 'Xeaph' a wild, unhinged, grid-less drum workout tied up with acid, sparking synths and plenty of caustic texture. 'CVE 122' is like Theo Parrish and Omar S at their most weird and experimental and 'MBASE01' is an acid-powered dub pumper with stripped back designs and undercooked production for gritty, strobe-lit basements. 'Track 4' closes with some reverting broken beats and hints of EBM, wave and photo-house all making it raw and mechanical and brilliant.
