Eddie Leader, founder of the admirable Hudd Trax label, has made many great records over the years, though his outings away from his own imprint have been limited. As a result, his productions are nowhere near as well-known as they should be. This EP on Chiwax, a label with a high profile, may help change that. It sees him deliver bumpin', rollin' and intoxicating deep house jams influenced by classic US sounds of the 1980s and 90s. This is best exemplified by opener 'So Underground (dub)' and the slightly more dubby and tech-tinged early morning vibes of 'Now Move'. 'The Vision' sees him foreground echoing piano motifs and spoken word snippets atop crunchy drums and squelchy acid bass, while 'Believe In Something' is warm, nostalgic and deliciously analogue-rich.
