London-born, Jamaica-raised singer, songwriter and multi-instrumentalist Julian Marley has long been a central figure in the reggae landscape, both through his solo work and collaborations with the wider Marley family. A founding member of the Ghetto Youths Crew, he's toured extensively with his band the Uprising, blending roots reggae tradition with socially conscious lyricism. His third album, Awake, released via Universal and Ghetto Youths United, marked a career high point - winning Best Album of the Year at the International Reggae and World Music Awards and earning a Grammy nomination. The record's warm, full-band sound and lyrical focus on unity and resilience cemented Marley's reputation as a modern torchbearer for the genre, carrying forward the spirit of roots reggae while adding his own global perspective.
