LUSHLAND is the debut album from R&B artist Silas Short, a passionate record of processing change and powerful self-acceptance. In 2021, a defining loss inspired Silas to take a leap in search of new possibilities. He packed up his car and left Chicago. Physically, he moved to Los Angeles; spiritually and emotionally, he journeyed to a place called Lushland.
LUSHLAND is filled with soulful songs rooted in ‘80s and ‘90s R&B, informed by Silas' years of playing in gospel bands with his father and an early education in hip-hop, funk, and neo-soul. Collaborators on the album include neo-soul legend James Poyser of The Roots and Soulquarians (Erykah Badu, D’Angelo, Ms. Lauryn Hill); Ryan James Carr (Usher, Cordae), Luke Titus (Kiefer) and Peanut Butter Wolf.
LUSHLAND follows Silas’ 2021 debut EP Drawing and his recent cover of "My Conversation", featured in the Bafta and Golden Globe-winning, and Oscar-nominated film A Real Pain.
