1x Vinyl LP Album

Release date: Feb 7, 2025, Worldwide

GNX is the sixth studio album by American rapper Kendrick Lamar, released unexpectedly digitally on November 22, 2024, through PGLang and Interscope Records. This album follows his 2022 release, "Mr. Morale & The Big Steppers," and marks his first project after departing from longtime labels Top Dawg Entertainment and Aftermath Entertainment.

The album's title, "GNX," references the Buick Grand National Experimental, a limited-production model of the Buick Regal from 1987, known for its all-black appearance and high performance.

"GNX" comprises 12 tracks, featuring collaborations with artists such as SZA on "Luther" and "Gloria." The production team includes notable figures like Jack Antonoff, Sounwave, and DJ Mustard. The album's opening track, "Wacced Out Murals," delves into Lamar's experiences and relationships within the music industry, mentioning artists like Snoop Dogg, Nas, and Lil Wayne. The song reflects on Lamar's journey and the dynamics of his interactions with these artists. "Squabble Up," another track from the album, showcases Lamar's integration of California rap styles, including G-funk and hyphy, mixed with vibrant influences such as mariachi. This track channels a carefree and rebellious spirit, even evoking 2Pac’s defiant attitude. "Heart Pt. 6" continues Lamar's long-running biographical series, detailing his split with Top Dawg Entertainment to form his own creative communications company, PGLang.

The surprise release of "GNX" has been met with significant attention and acclaim, further solidifying Kendrick Lamar's status as a leading figure in contemporary hip-hop
