It's always pretty refreshing to come across a collective that don't really want people to know they exist. Or at least they prefer to stay on the shadowy side of anonymity, contrasting the Insta-reliant (or should that be TikTok these days?) music age. A time when bands, producers and acts are often forced against their will to be present and visible and searchable, simply to have a chance of surviving. Let alone success.
De Leon are something of an enigma then. What we can say is these guys have been exploring field recordings, 'outernational rhythms' (their words, not ours), and the sounds that exist on the edges of dance music for some time. Informed by the elements - much of what's here invokes, or is the direct result of, interactions with air, wood, and metal - the result is essentially your own personal gong bath. So dive in, the sounds are lovely.
