Freddie McGregor

In the context of his 20th anniversary, Freedom Cry presents his first musical production in cooperation with Freddie McGregor. The legendary artist sings BEHIND THE WALL, a tune produced by Genius T and Freedom Cry already available on a limited vinyl edition (7”), published and distributed by Rebelmadiaq Records.

The catalan musician and producer Genís Trani is responsible of the musical production and also of mixing the song and the instrumental track. The musicians involved are: David Goldfine (bass), Pau Dangla (keyboards), Lamont 'Monty' Savoia (guitar), Josep Blanes (trombone), Oriol Escolano (trumpet), Pol Prats (sax), Roberto Sánchez (backing vocals) and Genís Trani (drums programming).

The Artwork combines Sil Cunningham’s watercolor paintings (inspired by a photo from Fernando Hevia) and the back cover and label design by Irene Garzie.

Jamaican singer, songwriter and producer Freddie McGregor is a living legend and a great mentor with a professional career full of musical hits that have turned into everlasting treasures. 'The Captain' is a Reggae Superstar, who has been constantly shining and filling the heart and the soul of his fans around the World for more than four decades. In 2003 he received the prestigious Order of Distinction awarded by The Jamaican Government in recognition of his contribution to Jamaican Music and Culture’s development. In 2013 he was honored with the Marcus Garvey Lifetime Achievement Award by the Institute Of Caribbean Studies.
