Originally released in 1976, K. Frimpong & His Cubano Fiestas is widely considered one of the greatest highlife albums ever recorded. Now, nearly five decades on, Soundway Records proudly presents a special transparent blue vinyl reissue—available exclusively for Record Store Day 2025.

Led by the enigmatic Alhaji K. Frimpong and backed by the legendary Vis-A-Vis band, this cult Ghanaian classic fuses traditional percussion and horns with early synth experimentation, pushing highlife into bold, avant-garde territory. The album features the beloved anthem “Kyenkyen Bi Adi M’awu” (“Come Back My Love”)—a song so deeply embedded in Ghana’s musical history it’s been covered and sampled by artists from Gnarls Barkley to Chronixx.

Painstakingly restored and remastered by The Carvery Studio, this long-out-of-print gem is housed in a heavyweight sleeve with faithfully restored original artwork by Wolfe Hall Studio and pressed on high-quality vinyl by Garcia et Co.
