Orchestre Poly Rythmo De Cotonou continue to pick up new fans as reissues of their crucial old records continues apace. Unite Africaine is next in the spotlight thanks to this work from Acid Jazz, and was first recorded in 1977. It actually features two epic full-side tracks from a pair of late 70s Orchestre Poly-Rythmo albums that were written when the band was at the peak of its powers. Infectious Afro-Latin vibes, master trumpeting, interwoven rhythms and big horn stabs make the record bristling with vitality and rhythm for the full duration. Copies of the OG albums with these tunes on are hard to find so don't sleep on this one.
