The next official reissue is a Balearic Dub album from Ambient Warrior originally released in 1995 on the Lion Inc label. The album is rooted in Dub but has a much broader scope taking in various musical influences from across the globe.Founder Ronnie Lion explains the concept “The Ambient Warrior was created as an outlet for myself and Andreas Terrano. At the time I was running Lion Music in Brixton, a popular mainly vocal roots label, and Andreas was teaching engineering at our studio. I soon realised he was a very talented guitar and piano player (Basement Jaxx also thought so and he worked with them around this time) and like myself we both wanted to create music that reflected our diverse influences. Andreas is of Italian, Armenian and Russian heritage and these musical influences clearly come through on the LP; over a Dub and Reggae backdrop you’ll hear a Tango and Bossa Nova style. The players on the album also come from different nationalities and genres, not just from the reggae scene, so this really created something authentic and unique”.The LP has been fully remastered from the original DAT tape with new full sleeve artwork from Bradley Pinkerton. Pressed on heavyweight 180 Gram Vinyl.
While much of Dubkasm's output tends towards the warmer, cheerier and more soulful end if the digital reggae and digi-dub spectrum, the Bristol duo's ZamZam Sounds debut is a far weightier, hazier and more spaced-out affair, informed more by a blend of floor-focused UK steppers and dub techno. In its original A-side form, 'Mighty Designer' adds fluttering lead lines, echo-laden flutes, feverish aural textures and eyes-closed spoken word vocals to a punchy-but-bouncy beat and a raw, stabbing bassline. The flipside 'Almighty Version' is a more skeletal, dub style affair, with a more metallic-sounding rhythm track ushering in a bolder and more sub-heavy tweak of the bassline, echoing electronics and all manner of trippy, hallucinatory flourishes.DUBKASMMighty DesignerZamZam Sounds US
Childhood Intelligence 15th release presents “The Return Of Intelligence '' by UK duo “Interlect 3000”. Far ahead of its time, the two artists composed these futuristic timeless pieces, unknowingly, for generations to come. The album pays homage to the early days, fusing aspects of Techno, Trance, House, Electro, Ambient. Truly a hypnotic journey from beginning till end, live recorded & dedicated to the journey itself. Traxx which were written and recorded at Spare Room Studios, Essex and Phantasm Studios, London, between 1992 -1996 have now been rediscovered and released in 2022. Interlect 3000 as the architects of their own world are driven by passion and dedication for electronic music. A testament of skill and imagination only known to masters of their art.
Switching RhetoricsFirst-ever vinyl edition of Shora & Merzbow’s split release Switching Rhetorics, originally published on CD in 2001, with remastered audio and updated artwork.Following the release of their acclaimed first record Shaping The Random in June 2000, Shora spent the next year touring and gigging around Europe, eventually reconvening in the studio in the summer of 2001 to record four tracks for a collaborative project with Japanese noise-meister Merzbow, a pairing initiated by Bisect Bleep Industries. The band’s sound had by that point coalesced into a tighter and arguably even more hard-hitting affair, however no less puzzling. The blistering first three tracks exude formidable confidence, embracing Dazzling Killmen-styled noise-rock and apocalyptic black metal alike, while maintaining all of Shora’s eloquent singularity. The drumming particularly shines throughout, with its multidirectional eruptions of seemingly pure kinetic energy. As its title suggests, the record’s grandiose and repetitive closing piece “To Further Confines” is a clear indication of the Swiss band’s desire to keep challenging itself and looking ahead. Completed with Merzbow’s extended psychedelic digital noise études, Switching Rhetorics is an era-defining record of genuinely great artistry.

Have a nice trip... Short-lived group Azura, as you can pretty much infer from the name alone, made Balearic house back in the 80s. They didn't release much of it but what we do know about is gold. This one is a mysterious gem that finally becomes more widely available. It has all the hallmarks of this sound - finger clicks, breaking synth waves, seductive vocals and rasping basslines. The house version is the more driving and club-ready, while the Dream version is much more spacious and ambient-filled. Both brilliant.
