Une belle production pour cette fin d'année ! Un Downtempo Riddim à la basse puissante qui accueil parfaitement le flow incisif de Saah Karim, merci Amoul Bayi Records
After two 12’’ and an LP with the talented Gambian singer SAAH KARIM, Amoul Bayi Records, a label based in Dakar Senegal, continues this fruitful collaboration by releasing a new track entitled The Last Shall Be The First.
SAAH KARIM is one of the most talented singers of the new African reggae scene. Coming from a family of Griots, music has always been second nature to him. He was nicknamed “The Lyrical Warrior” because of his flowing and incisive writing style. He masters the codes of Jamaican music and cultivates his own originality with his unique West African voice and committed lyrics reflecting the stakes of the African continent and of Humanity in general.
There is a little story behind this song
At Dour Festival 2019, under the Dub tent powered by the great Blackboard Jungle Sound System. Amoul Bayi Showcase is at the control. Fabyah, the selector/operator, is playing Mighty Redeemer, the hit track from Daba Makourejah's future album on an original and powerful riddim signed by Meekman. SAAH KARIM steps up on the version and begins an unknown song with militant lyrics and a catchy melody, sweeping the audience and his selector... An inevitable Pull Up follows! Among the dozens of unreleased songs by the Lyrical Warrior, The Last Shall Be The First had just found its riddim and will be sung on all other gigs of the summer tour.
It is therefore with great pleasure that Amoul Bayi Rcds releases as a 7’’ (the first one in their catalog) this piece composed by MEEKMAN, mixed and dubbed by SAWAH. The young and talented artist/graphic designer Momo Diop signs the artwork of the record which will be officially released in vinyl and digital on all download platforms on December 11th.
