En 1980, Bébé Manga devient internationalement connue avec sa reprise sous le nom de "Amio" d'un titre d'Ebanda Manfred, Amie, publié quasiment vingt ans plus tôt. L'album Ami-Oyomiya alterne makossa, ballades et afro-funk, mais c'est vraiment pour son tube que Bébé Manga marquera les esprits jusqu'à la fin de sa carrière.
